This kind of acne is hormone-related and tends to appear around the mouth and chin during or just before menstruation. Other symptoms could be PMT, mood swings, stress, depression and breasts' tenderness.
The spots tend to be dark, purple, red, sore, sometimes hard and pronounced. They take a long time to recover.
The way to deal with this condition is to cool, relax and sustain the body. In order to achieve that, you need to split the diet into two parts.
PART1 just before and during menstruation.
PART2 after the menses have ceased.
This diet is targeted. Don't focus on one food group or individual ingredients, you need all of them to act in combination.
If you have a medical condition, please follow your doctor's advice and don't use this diet as a substitute, if you are allergic to a particular food, use a substitute.
Now, print this page and take it shopping with you!

Managing the skin
This can be tricky, you probably have mixed skin conditions some greasy and some dry and the skin will likely change at times of the month. What you need to do is to dry the spots as soon as possible, prevent build up of blood and mucus, avoid scarring and being left with a red mark after the spots are gone. Non white skins in particular, need to be very careful in managing the condition.
Check with your GP and ensure they give you products that stop the spots from getting too big and purulent. Go to a professional beautician once, and learn good skin management.
